Introduction

With its short construction period, simple transmission and distribution, high energy efficiency, environmental compatibility and flexible operation, wind power has been increasingly developed and utilised in recent years. The increasing number of wind farms in wind power companies is currently increasing, and the improvement of the management capacity of enterprises has put forward higher requirements for the information and intelligence of wind farms.
Current situation
Most wind farms in China are currently networked using wired methods such as optical fibre or RS232. This traditional method requires tedious construction to lay cables, which is difficult and costly for wind farms located in remote areas, and wind farms are generally used for many years after completion. In addition, if the wind farm needs to increase the number of wind turbines, the wired network is not easy to expand
Using wireless technology to build a network
To address the current network construction problems in the wind power industry, the industry‘s advanced wireless mesh network coverage technology can be used to break through the dilemma of no wireless network coverage in wind power stations and to achieve the integration of audio and video data transmission in wind power station field operations.
Wireless mesh networks can provide anytime, anywhere network access services to meet the complex big data or network security requirements of the environment to carry out wireless data transmission. Due to its peer-to-peer nature, each mesh node can provide a variety of network services.
Wireless self-organising network equipment incorporates WiFi and wireless self-organising network technology with distributed multi-hop functionality, self-healing characteristics and good scalability, low cost, easy maintenance, etc.;

Wireless networking at the tower base and top of the wind turbine, to achieve signal coverage in the nacelle of the wind turbine, to ensure high quality and low latency communication within the wireless network coverage.
Specific deployment plan
To meet the above requirements, two high-performance mesh devices BL270HW are deployed at the top of the nacelle tower and in the tower base to complete the internal WiFi coverage and mesh self-assembly network of the wind turbine. The two Mesh devices in the tower base are connected to the network through a switch in the tower that is already connected to the wind farm fibre ring network.

Deployment scenario
To meet the above requirements, two high performance mesh devices, BL270HW, are deployed at the top of the nacelle tower and in the tower base to complete the WiFi coverage and mesh self-assembly inside the wind turbine.
